BISBEE
A scenic drive of 42 miles takes you to the town of Bisbee. Once known
as "Queen of the Mining Camps", Bisbee is nestled in the Mule
Mountains at a cool 5300-foot elevation. Founded in 1880, this quaint
and historic mining community is the county seat of Cochise County and
home to one of the worlds largest open pit copper mines. A thriving
community today Bisbee has become a haven for artists, poets, writers
and healers. Bisbee offers something for everyone; visit unique shops,
restaurants, art galleries, museums, or a Repertory Theater, take the
"Queen Mine" tour, see turn of the century architecture, or
go to the awesome "Lavender Pit", source of beautiful "Bisbee
Blue" turquoise. For more information call the Bisbee Chamber of
Commerce at 520-432-5421 or toll free 1-866-2BISBEE. Click here for
