RAMSEY CANYON PRESERVE
Ramsey Canyon Preserve is one of the most popular nature viewing areas
in Southeastern Arizona, owned and operated by the Nature Conservancy.
Situated on the eastern slope of the Huachuca Mountains at an elevation
of 5525 feet; the 300 acre preserve is dedicated to the quiet enjoyment
of nature and a paradise for birding, hiking, photography and research.
Home to more than 20 species of rare and endangered plants and animals
including birds, bats, snakes, frogs, ferns and lilies. From April through
September, significant numbers of birds, including up to 14 species
of hummingbirds, are present and birding enthusiasts from around the
world are attracted to the canyon. To reach Ramsey Canyon take Arizona
Highway 92 south from Sierra Vista to the 327-mile marker, turn on Ramsey
